Visual Description
Construction Billboard in Southbeach by Anastasia Samoylova is a fifty by forty-inch dye sublimation print. It is hung in portrait orientation, meaning its shortest side runs parallel to the ground. Two panels are seen mounted to conceal a construction project resting overtop a pink sidewalk. A pair of medium small openings create voids of black above the aluminum printed advertisements in the top of the composition. Leftover planks of wood are visible from the demolition. In the foreground on the right of the sidewalk stands a caution sign upright, facing the sunlight. Contained in the imagery of the panels is a classic Miami beach hotel. The hotel is painted a soft yellow with pedestrians walking in front. Palm trees line the walkway and a low deco style railing trims the small yard of the complex.
