11010 is a painting made by Sayre Gomez in 2021 with acrylic paint on canvas. The work measures 10 x 7 feet and the edge of the canvas measures ½ an inch. It is in portrait orientation, meaning its longest side is perpendicular to the ground. The painting is hyper realistic- its subject and the application of paint is highly realistic and photographic. The painting is a cityscape featuring a sunrise or sunset. The sky fades from a light blue at the top of the composition to a warm peach- the middle tones are a warm and light beige. The buildings and structures in the foreground are in complete silhouette and rendered using warm, dark shades. Beginning from the bottom third of the composition, there is a thin horizontal strip across the bottom of the image that could be the barrier of a bridge, street or highway. Just above and across the barrier, there are silhouetted treetops and building tops. They are smaller than the rest of the objects in the foreground and painted with a softer edge, intimating that they are further in the distance. Moving towards the middle third of the composition, there is a street sign that is quite large, because it is closest to the viewer. It is on the left side of the painting and extends up to the middle of the composition. The sun is round, warm and bright, centered in the bottom third of the image. Its rays shine through the gaps of a large vertical, silhouetted structure that has thin, horizontal, vertical and angled supporting beams. The structure reaches from the bottom of the composition to about 1/3 of the way up. The light from the sun is glowing, enshrining it with a large light-yellow circle that fades into the peachy sky. Below the sun, towards the bottom of the large vertical structure, there is a horizontal and rectangular silhouette, also with vertical and angled support beams. It appears to be highway signage. A tall light pole cuts up through the center of the signage and into the glow of the sun. Further to the right, a triangular street sign- likely a Yield sign- extends just above the bottom barrier. A rectangular street sign is right above it. Another light pole is to the right of it- appearing slightly further away than the one that cuts through the signage. The top third of the composition is empty, save the clear, light-blue sky and beige tones that fade into peach.
